Cargill Foods Mexico has a strong commitment to the Mexican industry Nixtamal and Tortilla initiating operations to serve the end users of white corn (industrial dough and tortilla) with solutions, rather than just selling a product. This commitment meant many changes for us. We have grown from a small organization within Cargill to a number of plants located throughout Mexico.

As a leader in corn provider distribution, Cargill Foods Mexico made a commitment to industrial dough and tortilla customers. We provide the homes of Mexico quality products with the traditional odor, flavor and nutrients of corn, and select the nixtamalization process to give strength and softness to their tortillas.
Sinaloa and Bajio White Corn
In Mexico, many varieties of white corn are grown throughout the country. Most of them are called "criollos" and are varieties cultivated by many independent families (normally for personal use).
In Sinaloa Bajio region, other varieties of white corn known as "hybrids" are produced. These come from seeds that are not native to Mexico, but are improved through a process of natural cross breeding to produce better corn.
Supernixtamal
The supernixtamal hybrid variety of white corn is harvested only for Cargill. This is a hybrid premium grain characterized by:
- Improving the taste, smell and texture of the tortilla, at the same time emphasizing the natural characteristics of white corn
- Providing consistent grain size
- Being naturally more resistant to damage and therefore more homogeneous, resulting in dough consistency
OPTIMASA Flour
OPTIMASA meal, created especially for industrial dough and tortillas, is a new and better option in processed corn flour.
To produce OPTIMASA flour, we use the most advanced technology with the highest quality Sinaloa grain called SuperNixtamal. Thanks to our delivery program, we guarantee the quality of flour all year round.
